Reallaura / spam art, mobile art, 2001-2004
“Reallaura” project took place in 2001-2004 as spam-art and mobile-art. It was one of the first polish artistic projects, which was based on mobile telephony and the Internet. The following episodes of the “Reallaura” were sent either as pictures either as spam to an extensive list of subscribers. They could also be downloaded from a special website directly to Your mobile phone as a wallpaper. 2001, years before social media and Facebook as we know them today, “Reallaura” presented day to day life of a young artist in the form of short, lucid comments – this was fresh, unecpected and was a surprising use of new technologies and the space they create.
“Reallaura” was a project made especially for old type mobile phones that were in common use at the beginning of the 21st century. It was a special collection of graphics composed of pixels, which anyone could have on the screen of their phone, thus identifying themselves with the texts of Reallaura. One graphics cost was less than one dollar. Unfortunately, due to the passage of time, the site no longer exists but the graphics can be seen on my website

Projekt Reallaura funkcjonował w latach 2001-2004 jako spam-art i mobile-art. Był jednym z pierwszych projektów artystycznych w Polsce, który opierał się na telefonii komórkowej i internecie. Kolejne odcinki projektu “Reallaura” wysyłane były albo jako spam do obszernej listy subskrybentów lub można było je ściągnąć ze specjalnej strony internetowej do swojego telefonu jako tapetę. 2001 roku, kiedy nie było Facebooka, prezentowanie swojego codziennego życia w formie krótkich, lapidarnych komentarzy, było czymś zaskakująco nowym.
“Reallaura” był projektem przygotowanym specjalnie na telefony komórkowe starego typu, które były dostępne na początku XXI wieku. Była to specjalna kolekcja grafik złożonych z piksli, którą każdy mógł mieć na ekranie swojego telefonu utożsamiając się tym samym z tekstami Reallary. Jedna grafika kosztowała 2,44 pln (mniej niż jeden dolar). Niestety ze względu na upływ czasu strona już nie istnieje ale grafiki można zobaczyć na mojej stronie internetowej laurapawela.net
